Medicare Rebate Scheme

• If your GP decides that you require psychological treatment, he will refer you to a psychologist and prepare a health care plan.

• You will be able to claim a refund of $75 from Medicare for the fee paid to the psychologist.

• This scheme provides six sessions in all.  In very special cases there may be an extra six sessions provided.

• In certain cases the refund may be $110.  Check with your psychologist after you have a letter of referral from your GP.
